They may be uncertainty surrounding Erik ten Hag’s job as Manchester United manager, but the Dutchman has been nominated for the Premier League’s Manager of the Month award.
The nomination is, of course, warranted after Manchester United won four out of five league matches in February. The unbeaten run ended last weekend when the Reds lost 2-1 against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Having previously won the award in November, Ten Hag is up against Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta and Man City’s Pep Guardiola for February’s award.
A 97th-minute Alex Iwobi winner for Fulham ruined United’s bid to have a perfect February but it hasn’t stopped Ten Hag being nominated for the Manager of the Month award.
The month started with a seven-goal thriller against Wolves, with 18-year-old midfielder Kobbie Mainoo scoring the winner late in stoppage-time. Three days later United beat West Ham 3-0 at Old Trafford.
United’s winning run continued against Aston Villa and Luton Town – before February’s league fixtures ended in disappointment with defeat against Fulham.
