Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly interested in a summer deal for Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries. This information comes from the Italian publication FC Inter News.

One of the top offensive full-backs in European football, the Dutchman’s future at Inter is now in doubt. His present contract expires in the summer of 2025, and because of salary disparities, there has been no progress for an extension.

This may make it easier for him to leave at the end of the season, and according to FC Inter News, United are interested in signing him. It is reported that manager Erik ten Hag is a big admirer of Dumfries.

This is not the first time the Dutch star has been linked with a move to Old Trafford. The former Eredivisie star was also mentioned as a possible United signing in the January transfer window.

The publication does note, though, that Aston Villa are also vying for the Inter star. They have established communication with the former PSV Eindhoven player’s agents. Inter are seeking to obtain a larger transfer fee with a bidding war between the Premier League clubs.

In 20 games this season, the 27-year-old has recorded 2 goals and 4 assists. It is precisely because of his attacking ability that United are keen to sign him.

Right now, Diogo Dalot is the sole attacking option available to the United manager. Due to his lack of an overlapping threat and the fact that the club has not yet extended his contract, which ends in June of next year, Aaron Wan-Bissaka may leave this summer.
