Erik ten Hag has confirmed his starting XI for this afternoon’s early kick-off vs Southampton.
Manchester United take to St. Mary’s in hopes of bouncing back from the two straight defeats they sustained prior to the international break. Facing the Saints, who are yet to claim a point since their return to the top flight, should prove a straightforward ask.
In terms of the team Ten Hag will deploy, he’s granted Christian Eriksen a rare start, with both Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte on the bench; the latter is awaiting his debut, while the former endured a disastrous showing in the 3-0 defeat to Liverpool on September 1.
Marcus Rashford, perhaps controversially, retains his place, while Amad Diallo has deservedly been given the nod in place of Alejandro Garnacho. Joshua Zirkzee leads the line to make his second start for the club.
