Esha Deol is all set to make her big screen comeback with Vikram Bhatt’s Tumko Meri Kasam. While she has been busy professionally, her personal life has been under scrutiny. Esha recently went through divorce with Bharat Takhtani and remained tight lipped about it. However, in a recent interview, she opened up about her mother Hema Malini’s advice about being financially independent and not letting romance die out amid her separation.

Esha Deol on not letting romance die out after divorce

In an interview with The Quint, Esha said, “Something that I think that every mother would want to tell their daughters especially, sons… yes, they automatically do it but for daughters, it’s very important is to have your own self-identity, even after marriage. And she always told me you have worked hard and made a name and you have a profession. Even if you have not made a name, you have a profession, that’s your thing. Never stop that. Try and continue working“. Esha added, “Always be financially independent irrespective of, even if you are married to a millionaire… but having your own financial independence just makes the woman so different.”

Esha mentioned, “One more very sweet thing she has told me is we do so many things in life – working, self-care, everything. She said one thing which is very important in life and should never die out is, romance.” “She said that is something that just gives you those butterflies in your stomach, it’s that feeling, we all want it. I have that advice in my head but I have not acted upon it yet,” she said.

For those unversed, Esha was previously married to Bharat but they parted ways after 11 years of marriage. They are parents to two daughters – Radhya and Miraya. They announced their divorce via a statement shared with Delhi Times that read, “We have mutually and amicably decided to part ways. Through this shift in our lives, the best interests and welfare of our two children is and will be of utmost importance to us. We’d appreciate our privacy is respected.”

Tumko Meri Kasam also stars Anupam Kher and Adah Sharma and is all set to release on 21st March.
