Even before being inducted into Bayern, Kompany is already criticized

The appointment of Vincent Kompany as head of Bayern Munich is not really unanimous within the Bavarian club.

The honorary president of Bayern Munich, Uli Hoeness, hardly approves of the appointment of Vincent Kompany as coach of the team.

The Belgian manager is expected to be named Bayern coach this week. He was chosen to replace Thomas Tuchel when many board members wanted Hansi Flick to return. The latter will finally take control of FC Barcelona.

Hoeness was against the arrival of Kompany

“There has been, let’s say it, some discontent in recent days. The leaders, including Uli Hoeness, wanted Hansi Flick to return,” revealed Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany.

It was sports director Max Eberl who had the last word on this matter. It was he who allegedly pushed for the appointment of Kompany. It is unclear whether Hoeness was convinced by arguments or simply ignored during the final decision.

Kompany doesn’t have much experience at the highest level, but he still has some good points to make. A certain Jean-Pierre Papin recently spoke out in favor of his appointment.
