Everton will be told if their appeal against their ten-point deduction is successful by mid-February, talkSPORT understands.
Everton were deducted ten points in November after the Premier League charged them with breaching profit and sustainability rules.
Everton appealed against their points deduction in NovemberCredit: GettyThey were sanctioned in November after recording losses of £124.5million over a three-year period between 2020 and 2022, £19.5m more than is allowed under Premier League profit and sustainability rules (PSR).
However, the Toffees appealed the decision immediately and insisted they gained no sporting advantage from overspending.
The appeal centres largely around the overspend was down to interest payments on loans taken out to build their new stadium and they did not gain a sporting advantage.
If their appeal is successful Everton are hopeful a second charge for breaching PSR rules given to them earlier this month will be overturned.
An independent hearing into the punishment is due to start on Wednesday.
