This saga finally appears to be over for Everton.

At least the bit involving the sale of their club.

Monday seeing Everton announce (see below) agreement on the sale of the football club.

However, whilst Crystal Palace shareholder John Textor had said it was ’90 percent’ sure he was going to buy Everton, instead it is The Friedkin Group who are the ones to have reached agreement with the current controlling shareholder(s) at Goodison Park.

For Newcastle United fans and all other fanbases at the other Premier League clubs, intriguing to see what happens next.

If indeed this takeover does get a successful conclusion, what will happen now with Everton on and off the pitch?

The ongoing financial shambles and a struggling team.

An interesting sideshow to view from afar as the season progresses.

Everton official announcement – 23 September 2024:

‘Blue Heaven Holdings and The Friedkin Group confirm that they have reached agreement over the terms of the sale of Blue Heaven Holdings’ majority stake in Everton Football Club.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approval, including from the Premier League, the Football Association, and the Financial Conduct Authority.

A spokesperson for The Friedkin Group said: “We are pleased to have reached an agreement to become custodians of this iconic football club. We are focused on securing the necessary approvals to complete the transaction. We look forward to providing stability to the club, and sharing our vision for its future, including the completion of the new Everton Stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.”
