Hyderabad: In a significant step toward fostering urban development, the Telangana government has approved the creation of two new municipal corporations and 12 municipalities, according to official sources. This move aims to enhance infrastructure, streamline governance, and improve the quality of life for citizens in rapidly growing urban areas.
One of the newly approved municipalities is the Moinabad Municipality, which will include only the following villages: Aziznagar, Himayatnagar, Surangal, Moinabad, Yenkapally, Chilkur, and Peddamanglaram.
Debate Over Naming
The announcement, however, has sparked a debate over the name of the new municipality. BJP leaders have proposed renaming it to Chilkur Municipality, citing the cultural and historical significance of the area, home to the famous Chilkur Balaji Temple.
