On this week’s episode of WWE NXT, fans were treated to the debut of Madi Wrenkowski in a WWE ring, and along with her debut came a new ring name.
The January 16, 2024, edition of WWE NXT marked the beginning of the road to NXT Vengeance Day, scheduled for February 4 at the F&M Bank Arena in Clarksville, Tennessee. During the show, it was announced that NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov would defend his title against Trick Williams at Vengeance Day, a match that had previously been postponed from New Year’s Evil.
In a unique women’s battle royal featured on this week’s NXT, the final four participants were set to advance to a four-way match, with the winner earning a shot at the NXT Women’s Championship. Madi Wrenkowski, who had recently appeared on NXT, made her in-ring debut under her new ring name, Wren Sinclair, during this match. Unfortunately for Sinclair, she did not make it to the final four. Instead, the four-way match consisted of Roxanne Perez, Fallon Henley, Kiana James, and Kelani Jordan, with Perez emerging victorious to earn a title shot against NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria at NXT Vengeance Day.
Wrenkowski boasts an impressive wrestling background, having previously held the MPW Tag Team Championship with Rache Chanel in May 2022, marking the longest reign in the promotion’s history. Her recent decision to vacate the title fueled speculation of her signing with WWE. Additionally, Wrenkowski was a former NWA Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside Missa Kate from February to August of the same year, eventually losing the titles at the NWA 75th Anniversary show on August 27, 2023, in St. Louis, MO. She has also made appearances on episodes of AEW Dark.
