Charlton are hopeful of appointing Nathan Jones as their new manager, talkSPORT understands.
The Addicks have been on the lookout for a new boss since January 23 after axing Michael Appleton following the 3-2 defeat against Northampton.

talkSPORT told you how former Southampton boss Jones was an early contender for the vacant job.
And the Welshman now looks set to take charge of League One Charlton - his first managerial role since being sacked at St Mary's in February 2023.
The 50-year-old has plenty of experience having briefly coached in the Premier League, as well as in the Championship with Stoke.
Charlton fans meanwhile will be encouraged by his work with Luton, where he took them from League Two to League One in 2018.
He was also in charge for the first half of the 2018/19 campaign before moving to the Potters, with Luton eventually going on to win League One.
Should Jones be drafted in at the Valley, he would be the club's third permanent manager this campaign.
Charlton started the season with Dean Holden, but he was sacked at the end of August following just one win in six matches, with Jason Pearce taking over on a caretaker basis.
Then came Appleton, but he lasted just a few months before he was relieved of his duties.

In total, he oversaw 28 matches in all competitions - winning eight matches and losing nine - with Charlton without a victory in his last 12 fixtures.
Curtis Fleming was swiftly appointed as the caretaker following Appleton's exit, where he helped Charlton draw away at Blackpool last time out.

Despite being tipped for promotion last summer, the London outfit sit 18th in the table.
If it is Jones that is appointed, he has the daunting task of saving Charlton from relegation to the fourth-tier of English football for the first time in their history.
