Some members of the leading opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State have dumped the party for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the November 16 governorship election in the state.
The lawmaker who represented Akoko North-East/North West Federal Constituency of the state at the National Assembly, Stephen Olemija, was one of those who defected to the ruling APC in the state.

 
 
 
 
Hon. Olemija defected alongside Mr Lekan Bada, former chairman of Akoko North East and candidate of the PDP in the last House of Representatives by-election in the constituency with Momoh Mufu, a notable opposition leader, were received at the weekend by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa during a campaign tour to Akoko North East.

Olemija said it will be difficult for the PDP to gain the overwhelming support of the people in the upcoming election.

Receiving the defectors, Aiyedatiwa, who is the governorship candidate of the APC in the election, explained that his administration would be encompassing if voted and allowed to retain the seat of power.
