Former TNA President Scott D’Amore was recently seen at the WWE Performance Center, sparking plenty of chatter.
Fightful Select broke the news, reporting that D’Amore visited the state-of-the-art WWE facility on November 8. But before you jump to conclusions, sources say it was just a friendly visit with a tour and some casual convos. So, what gives?
At this point, it’s not clear if there’s more behind D’Amore’s surprise appearance. But considering his bustling career post-TNA, anything seems possible. The former president didn’t rest after his departure from TNA Wrestling; instead, he turned his focus to launching Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling in Ontario, Canada. The revival of the promotion is set for a big 2025 comeback, showcasing talents from AEW, NJPW, TNA, and ROH.
D’Amore even dropped a bombshell on K100 w/ Konnan & Disco, revealing that he tried to buy TNA after being shown the door. “I tried to buy the company after I got let go,” D’Amore said. “I thought I knew where to take it, and I was willing to put my money and others’ money behind it. But ultimately, that offer was turned down.” Ouch.
Despite that roadblock, D’Amore pressed on, building Maple Leaf Pro into a project that promises to put Canadian wrestling on the global map. His mission? To give Canadian talent the spotlight they’ve long deserved, overcoming issues like work visas and cross-border logistics. And he’s not doing it alone.
Wrestling production legend Keith Mitchell, whose storied career includes Nitro, Thunder, TNA, and AEW, is coming out of retirement to join the team. “For Keith to come up and be part of the team, it’s an honor. He has so much knowledge, and he’s one of the best,” D’Amore gushed.
So, what was the real reason behind D’Amore’s WWE Performance Center visit? Is it just a friendly pop-in or could there be more to this story? While we wait for more tea to spill, one thing’s for sure: Scott D’Amore is keeping the wrestling world on its toes
