Shad Gaspard tragically lost his life in May 2020 while heroically sacrificing himself to save his son. He made many friends during his time in WWE and now a former WWE Star has announced the Shad Gaspard Memorial Cup tournament to honor the late WWE star.
“Da Pope” Elijah Burke took to Instagram and announced that the Inaugural Shad Gaspard Memorial Cup will take place on April 20. The tournament will take place at the Murray Hill Baptist Church Gymnasium in Jacksonville, Florida. Doors for the show will open at 6 pm local time, with bell time at 7 pm.
This event, in collaboration with the Love Alive Charity and with the approval of Shad’s widow Siliana, will feature eight men competing for the Beast Award in honor of the late WWE Superstar.

In 2022, Shad Gaspard was posthumously honored with the ‘Warrior Award‘ at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. Siliana, Shad’s wife, accepted the award in the ring, accompanied by his former tag team partner JTG and their son.
WWE also remembered Shad Gaspard on his birthday, which was on January 13th. We will have to wait and see who will end up winning the first Shad Gaspard Memorial Cup, as it will be a significant moment for the victor.
