Batista is one of the most impressive WWE superstars of all time. The Animal achieved immense success in the promotion, becoming a multi-time World Champion and a bona fide future WWE Hall of Famer. Batista recently reflected on his career and the challenges he faced during his time with WWE.

In a recent interview with Arizona’s Family, the former WWE Superstar talked about his mental health issues throughout his time with the business. Despite his enormous success in the ring, Batista admitted to experiencing anxiousness before each match. He added that by letting out a scream before walking into the ring all his nervousness would dissipate.

“When I started wrestling, I was literally physically sick before I walked out from the curtain. I used to walk out and [screams]. And all my anxiety was gone. And that’s what it is. I get nervous, and I get self-conscious, and then I get anxious, but as soon as I go [screams] it goes away. It’s easy for me to do that – I can relax from there. As soon as I get that out, I can relax from there,” said Batista.”

It’s worth noting, Batista’s tenure in WWE spanned from 2002 to 2010, during which he established himself as one of the company’s top stars, winning multiple World Championships. His return to WWE in 2014 for a short stint culminated in a main event appearance at WrestleMania that year.

However, Batista has not competed in a match since his fight against Triple H at WrestleMania 35. He built a successful career for himself in Hollywood after his time in the wrestling business, and he appears in Dune: Part Two, which released in theaters on March 1.

Despite his retirement from active competition, Batista is still praised for his contributions to wrestling and the entertainment industry as a whole.
