TKO Holdings Group made significant impact in professional wrestling by appointing Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to their Board of Directors. In light of this decision, it appears a former WWE writer will be heavily involved with The Rock’s Creative direction as well.

The Rock vs. Roman Reigns was initially planned for WrestleMania 39, but due to The Great One’s hectic schedule, he couldn’t be physically prepared for the bout. The match is now more or less confirmed for this year’s WrestleMania and fans have yet to truly accept that fact.

The Rock confronted Roman Reigns on SmackDown this week after Cody Rhodes confirmed he won’t face Reigns at WrestleMania 40. We have reported that The Rock wanted to save WrestleMania 40 with this move.

According to PWInsider, Brian Gewirtz, former Senior Vice President of Development at Dwayne Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions, will be involved as usual whenever The Rock is engaged with WWE. Gewirtz will be assisting with The Rock’s creative process, leveraging his experience as a former head of WWE Creative for several years.

Some speculate that Gewirtz could serve as a “Plan B” if Endeavor ever needs to shift WWE’s creative direction under Triple H and opt for a Rock-backed creative team in the future.

”PWInsider confirmed former Senior Vice President of Development at Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions, Brian Gewirtz, will be in the mix as usual as he is always involved whenever Rock is doing something with WWE as he helps with The Rock’s creative process considering his history as a former head of WWE creative for several years. Some people think he could even be a “Plan B” if Endeavor ever needs to pivot WWE’s direction creatively under Triple H and go with a Rock-backed creative team down the line.”

WWE’s reasoning behind The Rock’s WrestleMania 40 match has also been revealed. The match was also going to happen regardless of potential injuries. We will have to wait and see how the match will be received by fans once WrestleMania 40 is upon us.
