The long-anticipated Mr. McMahon documentary has finally premiered on Netflix, exploring various scandals and controversies surrounding Vince McMahon, including the allegations against him. A former WWE writer believes that McMahon exposed too much about himself in the documentary.
The docuseries closely examines Vince McMahon’s career, giving focus on some of the more controversial events in WWE. It addresses topics such as Sable’s sexual harassment claims and McMahon’s attempts to defend himself against assault accusations from former WWE referee Rita Chatterton. The documentary clearly does not shy away from these difficult subjects.
While speaking on The Coach & Bro Show, Vince Russo expressed his opinion that Vince McMahon exposed himself in the Netflix documentary. He found it odd for the 79-year-old to discuss his “sexual appetite” during the interview, noting that it was unusual for someone in wrestling to share such personal details.
Russo said that if Vince had been more careful, he wouldn’t have mentioned certain things amidst the allegations against him. He pointed out how McMahon blurred the lines between his character and real self, discussing both the Mr. McMahon character’s sexual prowess and his own appetites. Russo called it “a little kabuki-ish” and questioned how often he or Coach talked about their sexual preferences on podcasts, suggesting it was very rare.
“If was some of the things that came out of Vince’s mouth that he would’ve never said over these allegations. He comes out and says, ‘Sometimes I don’t know where Mr. McMahon ends and Vince McMahon starts.’ Then, he talks about the Mr. McMahon character and his sexual prowess. Then he talks about Vince McMahon and his sexual appetite. I found that a little kabuki-ish Coach. I’ve done a million podcasts, you’ve done a million podcasts. We do this every day. How many times have you gone on the air and talked about your sexual appetite?”
Vince McMahon also allegedly hired a hitman to do his dirty work but RVD did defend Vince McMahon over blame from wrestlers who were addicted to painkillers and suffered injuries. Regardless, McMahon will forever remain an infamous figure in the world of professional wrestling and that’s never changing.
