Bruno Guimaraes is preparing for the Copa America with his international teammates.

Brazil have two warm up games ahead of the tournament, playing Mexico this weekend and then the USA through the week.

Then the Copa America tournament itself kicking off for Brazil against Costa Rica in their opening group game on 24 June.

Bruno Guimaraes has now been talking to the media in the lead up to these friendlies and the Copa America, with no surprise to see many of the questions targeted about his club future, as opposed to just internationals this summer…

Bruno Guimaraes interviewed by TNT Sports, as translated by Sport Witness:

“I think I am at my best moment in my personal life, in my professional life, it all helps a lot, it is all connected.

“I think Newcastle is the club that, with all due respect to Lyon, I feel most at home at in Europe.

“I’m an idol of the fans, I get a lot of respect from everyone.

“I think it (last season) all worked out very well, right?

“It was a good season, even though the club had a lot of injuries, a lot of suspensions, in short, I think it was a great season for me, one that will stay in my memory, and I hope to have more seasons like that.”

Bruno Guimaraes asked about his future, PSR/FFP and media speculation that he could move this summer:

“Look, my future, to be honest, is in God’s hands.

“I have a contract with Newcastle, I’m very happy, as I said, I know how much they like me, I know everything I’ve been doing for the club.

“In short, I have a contract, I’m happy.

“I don’t know what can happen, we know everything about Financial Fair Play, but what I can say is that I feel happy.

“Obviously it is very nice to have your name linked with big clubs, it shows that I’m doing my job well, but I’m not worried about it at all, as I said, I’m happy at the club.

“I’m very happy, so let’s see what happens.

“I’m not in any hurry, I’m happy, and it’s up to God, let’s see what happens.”

Newcastle United fans loving what Bruno Guimaraes has to say.

You can never say never in football but great to hear such positive comments from the NUFC talisman.

As has been previously reported, Bruno Guimaraes and his family have just bought a new £4m home on Tyneside and repeatedly Bruno says how happy he and his family are, with everything on and off the pitch.

Bruno Guimaraes was/is as frustrated as any Newcastle United fan that last season was in many ways so frustrating BUT only from the point of view of frustration caused by an unprecedented injury hit campaign and the near season-long Sandro Tonali ban.

I have no doubts that as a very bare minimum, Bruno Guimaraes is desperate to see what this Newcastle United squad could potentially achieve in the 2024/25 season, even if getting only average luck with injuries.

With a likely midfield trio of Bruno, Tonali and Joelinton, then the likes of Gordon and Isak in the attacking positions, this could be a special season.

Actually, this interview and these quotes from Bruno Guimaraes speaking to media in Brazil, are pretty much identical to an interview Alexander Isak did (see HERE) with media in Sweden earlier this week.

Just like Bruno, Isak said he had never been happier than he was now at Newcastle United and he wasn’t thinking of leaving St James’ Park this summer.
