On struggles before his debut project

The actor also admits being privileged for being Aamir Khan’s son and didn’t really struggle despite facing rejections several times. He shares, “I don’t know about struggle really, I don’t think that is the right word. I studied theatre in 2017 and have been performing in plays since then. Even then whenever I was called to test or read for a part I would do it. And I don’t call that phase struggle per say. Yes, I had auditioned for several things and then I finally got Maharaj. But I don’t see it as a struggle as I don’t have to pay rent or I don’t have to worry about where my next meal is coming from.”

For those unversed, Maharaj received a stay order ahead of release. Set in the 1980s, Maharaj chronicles the times of Karsandas Mulji (Junaid Khan), a Gujarati journalist, writer and social reformer, who fought for women’s rights. It is directed by Hitchki fame Siddharth P Malhotra and stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Shalini Pandey and Sharvari Wagh.
