Arsenal are understood to be considering a transfer move for Atletico Madrid forward Samu Omorodion this summer as they look to solve their problems up front, though they could face competition from Liverpool and West Ham United.

Sources with a close understanding of the player’s future have informed CaughtOffside that Arsenal and Liverpool have been monitoring the 19-year-old’s situation for some time, though it may be that West Ham are showing the strongest interest, having contacted his agent to discuss their interest recently.

Omorodion has impressed on loan at Deportivo Alaves this season and there seems to be growing interest in him ahead of the summer, with sources indicating that Atletico Madrid could cash in on the youngster if they receive offers in the region of €60million.

One key issue for Omorodion is that he is understood to want regular first-team football next season after showing what he can do during his loan spell, and it remains unclear if Atletico boss Diego Simeone will be able to provide him with that.

Omorodion transfer: Arsenal, Liverpool and West Ham in the mix

Samu Omorodion to Arsenal, Liverpool, or West Ham?

It seems the strongest interest in Omorodion is coming from England for now, and Arsenal could certainly do with adding a striker to their ranks after poor goal-scoring seasons from Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah.

Kai Havertz and Leandro Trossard have filled in well up front at points, but it’s debatable if they have long-term futures as out-and-out centre-forwards, so a young talent like Omorodion could be ideal.

Still, if it’s playing time that the Spain Under-21 international wants, he may have to think carefully about a move to the Emirates Stadium right now, as Mikel Arteta’s side will want to be competing for the biggest prizes, so might be cautious about handing too much first-team football to someone relatively young and unproven.

Liverpool could pose similar issues for Omorodion, so it may be the case that West Ham ends up being the best option for him.
