Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson is liked by Brighton but a transfer deal depends on what happens with the manager situation at the club this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Nelson has struggled for playing time at the Emirates Stadium in recent times and it perhaps makes sense that his future once again looks in doubt after some speculation regarding a possible move last summer before he ended up signing a new contract with the Gunners.
Speaking exclusively to CaughtOffside for his Daily Briefing column, Romano explained that Brighton still like Nelson after showing an interest in the past, but the major factor in this story at the moment is that the Seagulls don’t necessarily have that much clarity over Roberto De Zerbi’s future as manager.
The Italian tactician has done tremendous work at Brighton and may well be a man in demand this summer as we know that Liverpool, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are all among the clubs who will be appointing new managers, while one imagines that Manchester United and Chelsea could also be two teams to watch in that area if things don’t go well in the final weeks of the season.
Nelson transfer could hinge on Brighton manager saga
Reiss Nelson in action for ArsenalArsenal fans will have mixed feelings about whether or not Nelson should stay, but it seems the interest from Brighton is there, with Romano admitting it might be one to watch, depending on what happens with De Zerbi.

“Having struggled for playing time at Arsenal this season, Reiss Nelson is again being linked with a possible move away,” Romano said.
“Brighton appreciate the player, they already wanted him last summer when he decided to sign new deal at Arsenal after talks. But in order to decide about top targets, it will be crucial to understand Roberto De Zerbi’s future, so let’s see if he ends up leaving for another job, and, if so, who will replace him.”
