Transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano has provided some insight into what we can expect next from Real Madrid after he announced it was ‘here we go’ for them to complete the signing of Kylian Mbappe.
The France international is all set to leave Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent and join Real Madrid in what will undoubtedly be the biggest story of the summer, and Romano already has some insight into what we can expect next from Los Blancos in the transfer market.
Speaking exclusively to CaughtOffside for his Daily Briefing column, Romano explained that Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies remains a target, though his future still remains unclear, while there’s also interest in two talented youngsters in the form of Lille defender Leny Yoro and River Plate midfielder Franco Mastantuono.
Davies is a proven world class performer and Bayern will surely hope they can keep him, with Romano seemingly not ruling out that the Canada international could still sign a new contract at the Allianz Arena.
Alphonso Davies to Real Madrid?Yoro’s move would likely hinge on Lille’s asking price, while Mastantuono will surely be one for the future, so it remains to be seen if Madrid will move for him as that much of an urgent priority right away.
Real Madrid transfers – Fabrizio Romano on next targets after Mbappe
“Real Madrid players are really excited about the possibility to play with Mbappe – they are not jealous at all, they believe that Real Madrid have the best technical project in the world, and that what they’re doing, step by step, is really special,” Romano said.
“Mbappe is joining, Endrick is joining, they are trusting their players even through injuries and difficult moments, and they want to win every single competition they’re in.

“So, what next for Real Madrid this summer? For now obviously the plan is to announce this historic Mbappe signing, and after that they want to sign the new deals for Luka Modric and Lucas Vazquez. Then we’ll have to see what they decide to do as they have other interesting targets.
“One name, as mentioned before, is Alphonso Davies. We’ll have to see what happens on that as it’s gone a bit quiet while we wait on the player’s decision after Bayern Munich offered him a new contract. Leny Yoro also remains on their list but it will depend on what kind of price tag Lille ask for. 16-year-old River Plate wonderkid Franco Mastantuono is also being monitored.”
