Isha Talwar on actors being casted based on the numbers of their followers
Talwar said, “Yeah, yeah, casting is happening based on followers. This is serious, this is a serious issue. If you’re casting based on numbers, if you’re hiring makeup artists, stylists, cameramen based on numbers, I mean anything, it’s scary that you’re deciding based on numbers whether someone knows their craft or not. That’s not cool at all. Keep the game fair; people can buy followers, so how can you judge whether someone knows their work or not?”
Isha further continued, “People have been working hard for so many years, learning their craft, acting, dancing, learning music, and suddenly one day you decide based on reels, on what happened in 15 seconds, whether someone knows their job or not. We hire so many people from Instagram, we see their work, but when they come, they know nothing, and that’s very scary because at that time, the profiles and CVs are very long, but practically how much they know on the ground matters because skills are needed. Just talking won’t help; actual work is needed.”
Apart from this, Isha also shared her experience working in the Malayalam film industry and remembered it as a beautiful journey. Talvar also described her co-actors in word.
