Casting director Mukesh Chhabra – who has done the casting for films like Rockstar, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Dangal, Jaawan, and more, shares a chat down with Bollywood Bubble for a lengthy chat about his work, the different actors who he has seen audition for films and lots more. During the same chat, Mukesh recalled his first meeting with many stars, including Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan & Salman Khan. Read on to know all he had to say.
Mukesh Chhabra on Sushant Singh Rajput
Talking about Sushant Singh Rajput and his statement where he compared the late actor to Shah Rukh Khan, Mukesh Chhabra said, “I think yeh wohi hai ki kahi na kahi hum sab unse influenced hai, Aap bologe ya nahi bologe, accept karoge ya nahi karoge – hum sab unse kahi na kahi influenced hai unke interviews dhekke, style dhekke. He’s a charming dancer, performer, and life of the party. (We all are influenced by SRK to some extent, whether you speak or not, accept or not – we all are influenced by him to some extent, look at his interviews, look at his style. He’s a charming dancer, performer, and life of the party.)“
When stated that he’s spoken about about SSR, Mukesh replied in Hindi, “Sometimes you form a bond with people and you feel you’ve never spoken enough about them.”
MC on SSR’s unfulfilled wish
On being asked he knows on any unfulfilled wish of Sushant, the casting director replied, “Woh matlab hum dono ka hi adhoora rah gaya, because jaise hota na, mujhe lagta tha ki ab ek film ke baad apni doosri picture bhi apne ek dost ke saath banate ho na, to mera doosri, teesri, chauthi picture ka jo sapna hai na, ki ek jodi hoti hai na, hum bolte hain ki actor-director ki ek jodi hai, to wo hamara ek wo jo sapna tha wo adhoora rahega. (Actually, it was our dream which remained incomplete. Because, as it happens, I always thought that after one film, we would make our second film together. So, my dream of making the second, third, and fourth films with my friend, as a duo of an actor and director, remains unfulfilled).”
