Nasarawa United head coach Kabiru Dogo believes Victor Collins can challenge for a regular playing berth in the Super Eagles.
Collins was named in Nigeria’s squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures against Benin Republic and Rwanda this week.
The powerful centre-back is the only home-based player included in the squad.
The defender has been one of the standout performers for Nasarawa United in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) this season.
“Collins is a top quality defender, i joined the the team four days to the start of the season and he has made a big impression since my arrival,” Dogo told Completesports.com in an exclusive chat from his base in Lafia.
“I believe he is player who can become a regular player in the Super Eagles. He has all the quality to achieve this.
“The most important thing is to for him to stay humble and keep learning. This will be a good learning curve for him.”
Dogo also praised the Super Eagles technical crew for their transparency in the invitation of players to the team.
“I must commend coach Augustine Eguavoen and his team for their openness in the invitation of players to the Super Eagles,” added the former Kwara United coach.
“When you even look at the quality of players invited to the CHAN team, you will give them kudos.
“Everything has been done on merit and they deserve commendation for a good job.
”The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) also did well in the appointment of the coaches too. Daniel Ogunmodede and Fidelis Ilechukwu did well with their respective clubs.”
