Man City are in the market for a forward to support Erling Haaland and the Premier League champions have identified FC Copenhagen’s Orri Óskarsson.
The Manchester club parted ways with Julian Alvarez during the current transfer window with the World Cup winner joining Atletico Madrid as part of a massive £82m deal.
Pep Guardiola would like a replacement for the Argentina star and sources have told CaughtOffside that Man City are seriously considering a move for FC Copenhagen’s Orri Óskarsson.
The Iceland international has caught the English club’s eye with his performances this season as the forward has scored seven goals across the first 11 games of the campaign in all competitions. The Premier League champions have had scouts watch several of Óskarsson’s matches and were highly impressed by the 19-year-old’s talent.
Sources state that Pep Guardiola has already given his approval for the transfer as the Spanish coach would like support for Haaland. FC Copenhagen would demand around €15m/€20m for the young forward and that is a fee City would have no problem matching.
There is also interest in Óskarsson from Spain with one La Liga club said to be monitoring his situation. Copenhagen have received an offer from this Spanish club, although the club’s name has not been disclosed yet.

Why do Man City want FC Copenhagen’s Orri Óskarsson?
Man City want to add Óskarsson to their squad to provide support for their main man Erling Haaland. The Iceland international is the perfect profile for the role at the Premier League champions as he is young, has potential and is a lethal goalscorer.
The 19-year-old has been with Copenhagen since 2022 having joined the Danish club from the Icelandic team Grotta. The forward has gone on to play 60 matches, scoring 22 goals and providing a further nine assists.
The youngster has made a very fast start to the 2024/25 campaign and it could potentially be his best yet. Therefore, it would be wise for Man City to move for Óskarsson now as the competition will only increase as time goes by.
