Pragya Jaiswal, who was recently seen in the comedy flick Khel Khel Mein, has opened up about the film underperforming at the box office owing to its release clashing with Stree 2 and Vedaa. While Vedaa starrer Sharvari, John Abraham and Abhishek Banerjee in pivotal roles, the sequel of Stree saw Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana in lead roles.

Khel Khel Mein featured an ensemble cast consisting of Akshay Kumar, Fardeen Khan, Taapsee Panu and many more. While Stree 2 has been making and breaking box office records, KKM and Vedaa had thumbing collections despite the audience loving them. Now, Pragya – who played Akshay’s wife in the comedy, has opened up about the clash and how it affected the film. She also spoke about the expectation she had once it releases on OTT.

Pragya Jaiswal on Khel Khel Mein BO clash

Talking about the August 15 box office clash between Khel Khel Mein, Vedaa and Stree 2, Pragya said, “You can’t predict which film will eventually do well on that day two months in advance – because release dates are zeroed in months in advance. So no one can really predict the outcome. When the movie comes out you just keep your fingers crossed that you know let’s hope some miracle happens and the film does well because it definitely deserves all the love. Everyone who has gone to watch the film – we as actors get to know what people think through different sources. You 100% get a reality check if people love the film or not.”

She continued, “This is the first film where I have got 100% positive reviews. There is not one person who has gone inside and just came out saying, ‘Theek hain.’ Everyone who has gone for the film has laughed, has enjoyed every character, has laughed at the jokes, has been fully entertained and come out saying, ‘Yaar, bahut maza aaya’. That is the feedback we got from everybody who has seen the film. But now, how many people have seen the film is the question. But again I am still hopeful.”

Pragya: It may feel like a re-release when it comes on OTT

She added, “It may feel like a re-release when it comes on OTT; when the world actually watches it at home with a free mind and enjoys the film. So obviously somewhere you feel like the film could have had a bigger success but what will you do now it is not something in your hands. Nothing you can change. All you can do or feel proud that you made a really good film, you told a good, entertaining story, you spread love, joy and happiness and it’s the best. That’s what one can do as an actor right and you know.”
