He also participated in Khatron Ke Khiladi 7 where he was the 5th runners-up.
After participating in several reality shows, Raghav took on hosting duties for dance shows like Dance Plus, Dance Plus 2, Dance Champions, Dance Plus 3, Rising Star, Dance Plus 4, Dil Hai Hindustani 2, Dance Plus 5, Dance Deewane 3 and Dance Plus 6. During an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, the ‘Kill’ actor got candid about reality shows and whether they are scripted. He also spoke about breaking the age old norm attached to host having to wear suits while emceeing a show.
Raghav Juyal on reality shows being scripted
When asked if reality shows are scripted, Raghav tells us, “Mera toh nahi hota yaar scripted, mera hota toh woh aapko pata lagg jaata. (Mine aren’t scripted. If they were, the audience would have noticed.)” He continued, “Main toh woh bhi nahi dekh paata, woh saamne lagate haina, tele promter. Main toh woh bhi nahi dhek pata main dyslexic hu. Mera joh mann karta hai stage par woh karta hu, aur ussi ke wajahse main chala hu as a host. (I can’t even read the teleprompter; I’m dyslexic. I do what comes to my mind on stage, and that’s why I succeeded as a host.)”
Raghav on breaking hosting stereotypes
Talking about breaking norms as a host, Raghav continued, “Hosting mein maine ek stereotype break kiya ki issi prakar ki hoti hai hosting ki jaati hai – suit-boot pehen ke. Nahi, maine break kiya. Main nahaya bhi hu, dhoya bhi hu, sab kiya on the spot. Aur agar Salman sir aarahe hai, Shah Rukh Sir aarahe hai tum thodi na bologe script mein hai yehi bologe. Waha tumhe unke mood ke hisaab se karni hai cheeze, toh nahi hota hai off screen. Toh woh nahi hota. (I’ve broken the stereotype that hosting can only be done by someone wearing a suit/dressed fancy. I’ve broken that assumption. I even bathed and cleaned up on stage – and it’s spontaneous. If Salman Khan or Shah Rukh Khan is coming on a show, you can’t just say what’s scripted, you have to improvise based on their moods.)”
