Actor Sargun Mehta who is popularly known for doing movies in the Punjabi industry made her Bollywood debut with Akshay Kumar in Cuttputlli. She played the role of SHO Gudiya Parmar and she garnered immense love for her performance. Even though she played a powerful role, Sargun feels that Bollywood has not ‘tapped her potential yet.’ Discussing the same with Bollywood Bubble, Sargun revealed how Cuttputlli happened.
Speaking about Bollywood not recognising her talent, Sargun exclusively told us, “No, they haven’t tapped on my potential because I have a lot of potential. A of people haven’t tapped my potential, even Hollywood hasn’t tapped my potential. I did Cuttputlli because I thought I could do more than just do a glamourous heroine role as I have done before. In the role that I have done in Cuttputlli, I didn’t have a similar option in Punjab. For the past 6-7 years, I have not done such roles and I thought that I should be doing such roles otherwise I’ll forget acting.“
“Before Cuttputlli, I was offered another role where I was the heroine. I said ‘I don’t want to do it, I know what I will have to do. There will be a song and I will be telling the hero that doesn’t leave, I’m here only.’ I know I have done this 100 times and I want to do something else,” adding that when Cutputlli came to her, she quickly agreed to it. Sargun also said that she doesn’t know if she can call this movie her Bollywood debut. She just shot for the movie, it got released and everyone loved it.
