Shweta Tripathi recalls getting starstruck seeing Hrithik Roshan
Talking about her initial days in Mumbai, Shweta shares, “So this happened when I came to Bombay as a photographer. I was working on the cover of a leading magazine as an intern. And I swear at that time there were so many directors, actors and writers in front of me. For once I thought of kidnapping them as they would have to then eventually cast me. And then I will do a movie with them which was my dream. Obviously, these were just thoughts, and I wasn’t going to execute any of them, even though I am Golu.”
She added, “All these stunning, beautiful people were coming and I was clicking them. But there was one person – when he came, and I think he was wearing black, and I just froze. I didn’t even want to shoot him because I felt that I wanted to see him clearly with my own eyes, and it was Hrithik Roshan. The way he was glowing, and this must be 2007. When I saw him, it felt like there was a tubelight glowing from inside, and I just kept on staring.“
Shweta on being called Preity Zinta
The actress also shares, “And because I was an intern and was working with a leading publication, we also had access behind the scenes. So in my head, I thought, ‘I’m there, I’m being pretty chill and cool.’ My co-worker then tapped me and said, ‘Starstruck?’ And I was like, ‘No.’ And he just smiled. I was like, ‘Oh no, is it showing on my face how I’m feeling?’ So that was a moment. Then I saw Preity Zinta, and when someone used to say in my childhood that I looked like her, I used to get very happy. So seeing all those people in that room, there was a very different kind of energy which I really enjoyed.”
In the interview, Shweta also spoke about Men in industry and heaped preaise on co-stars like Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vicky Kaushal, Ali Fazal among others. Watch the full interview here:
