Sunny Deol is an actor, film director, producer, and politician. He has worked in more than 100 Hindi films in a career spanning over four decades and is particularly known for his angry action hero persona. Deol has won several awards, including two National Film Awards and two Filmfare Awards. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Sunny Deol shares a major update on Border 2 co-starring Varun Dhawan.
When asked if he was scared of doing Border 2 like the Gadar sequel, Sunny Deol shared, “Dekhiye, we are never sure about anything, you know. Just the excitement of doing something with the challenge is always more interesting. Obviously, it’s more risky, because there’s something to compare with. Par uske baare mein, jahan tak soch sakte ho, soch rahe the. Aadmi shuru karne se pehle, uske baad phir wo soch ke kaam nahi kar paayega. Shuru mein discussions ho jaati hain, jo bhi hain. Then we just have to go with the flow with it.”
He added, “And so, mujhe lagta hai, theek hi hoga, so theek hi hoga. At the end of the day, the characters which we love, whether you call it whichever cinema. Agar aapko woh character pasand aa jaaye, toh woh aapke saath jud jaata hai, aur aap usse phir se dekhna chahte ho. Aur aap picture bhi bahaar leke aate ho, wo character ke saath, because woh actor ne woh character aise nibhaaya hota hai ki aapke andar baith jaata hai wo cheez. So, that’s what it is. And that’s what cinema is all about.”
Border 2
Border 2 is a sequel to J.P. Dutta’s 1997 blockbuster Border. Gulshan Kumar, T-Series and Dutta’s J.P. presented the film. It pays homage to the bravery and commitment of the Indian warriors. The news of Border 2 by Sunny Deol has fans eager to relive the drama after 27 years. It will be produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta and Nidhi Dutta. The film is tentatively set to be released on January 23, 2026.
