Fabian Schar is the only Newcastle United player to have started all 34 Premier League matches this season.

In addition, the central defender starting all six Champions League games and the four FA Cup matches this season.

A massive contribution, especially when seen in the bigger picture of so many NUFC players missing, so often, these past seven or more months.

However, the perfect Fabian Schar run of Premier League starts is coming to an end, with the defender set to miss Saturday’s game at Burnley.

Eddie Howe confirming this to journalists on Friday morning:

“Fabian Schar will miss a period of time with a minor hamstring problem.

“He won’t be available tomorrow at Burnley and I doubt we’ll see him again this season.”

Interestingly though, that Eddie Howe press conference was then followed by Blick, a newspaper in Switzerland, reporting that they had now spoked to Fabian Schar directly.

With the Newcastle United defender having declared:

“In my opinion it (hamstring issue) is not that bad.

“I’m fully expecting to play for Newcastle [again] this season.

“Accordingly, I have no worries at all when it comes to [being available for Switzerland at] the European Championships.”
