Manchester United are being linked with several young players in France this summer. Rennes starlet Desire Doue is the latest name to excite fans.
We can only presume Ineos will take advantage of their expertise in the French football market.
Only time will tell if United switch their focus to talent in Ligue 1, such as Doue and Jean-Clair Todibo.
United are one of six or seven clubs in the race to sign the 18-year-old Rennes star, according to Fabrizio Romano via CaughtOffside.
Romano said: “Staying with United, we’ve seen them linked, along with many other clubs, with Rennes wonderkid Desire Doue, who is doing fantastic with his performances in Ligue 1.
“Honestly, though, I could mention six or seven clubs interested in Doue – interest is strong, but it’s really early. So we have to be patient on this one. For sure, interest is there from several countries as he’s considered a top, top talent.”
The 18-year-old, who is a versatile attacker, has been closely linked with a move to Old Trafford over the past week.
That said, with stiff competition set to emerge for Doue, we’ll soon see if United are ready to challenge for his signature.
It is reported that Rennes could be persuaded to cash in on the youngster for around £30 million.
No transfers can be made official until the transfer window opens on June 14.
We’ll keep our eye on Doue links throughout the summer.
