Manchester United are set to lose young forward Mateo Mejia on a free transfer this summer, it has been revealed by journalist and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.
United are set for a busy January transfer window, with Erik ten Hag looking to free up some space in his first-team group.
Jadon Sancho’s departure has already been confirmed, with the young winger returning to Borussia Dortmund on a short-term loan.
There is not an option to buy in the deal that saw Sancho return to the Bundesliga and his future will be reassessed in the summer.

In addition to first-team players leaving the club, academy hopefuls will also see the end of their journey. The latest player to fall victim to that fate is academy striker Mateo Mejia, according to reports.
As per Fabrizio Romano, Mejia is set to join Sevilla on a free transfer at the end of this campaign as his contract at United enters its final six months.
As per the report, documents to finalise the deal will be signed next week as Sevilla prepare to secure their man on a pre-contract.
Despite losing the prospect on a free transfer, United may not go completely empty-handed as the reporter has also revealed that United are entitled to 25% of the transfer fee if Sevilla sell Mejia.
