Fabrizio Romano has noted that multiple clubs are understood to be keen on acquiring Amadou Onana’s services in the summer.
The Everton star is thought to be appreciated by Arsenal in particular, though the Gunners have yet to settle on one particular target.
“There will be many clubs keen on signing Amadou Onana this summer, for sure,” the Guardian reporter said in his exclusive Daily Briefing column with CaughtOffside.
“Arsenal appreciate him and are well informed but I already mentioned also Martin Zubimendi, they have to decide what kind of player they want to sign and it won’t be decided in February, it will take some time.
“In any case, Onana is attracting interest and I think he has a good chance to move in the summer.”
The holding midfielder is currently contracted at Goodison Park until the summer of 2027.
What does it mean for Declan Rice?
Former West Ham man Declan Rice has proven more than effective in the holding midfield role on his own.
Still, some debates persist over his potential deployment higher up the pitch and whether Arsenal could make better use of his considerable abilities.

FBref have both midfielders down as excelling in the air, in particular, with the former ranked highest with 2.43 aerials won per 90 (94th percentile) compared to the latter’s 1.49 aerials won per 90 (79th percentile).
If Arsenal want the Real Sociedad man, however, they won’t necessarily find him an easier signing given his long-term contract.
