Facebook and Instagram users are experiencing widespread outages on Tuesday morning. Over 566,000 Facebook users are experiencing an outage according to Down Detector. Instagram’s app was also having issues on Tuesday, with over 89,000 users reporting outages. The outage started just after 10:00 a.m. ET, and appears to be ongoing.
Nobody’s Really Watching Reels
“We are aware of an issue impacting Facebook Login,” said Meta on its status page. “Our engineering teams are actively looking to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.”
Meta is reporting major disruptions across its family of products on Tuesday morning. Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and Threads all showed spikes in user-reported issues. Many users are reported being logged out of their Facebook accounts, with no ability to sign back in. Gizmodo reporters are also experiencing the outage. It’s unclear at this time what the cause is.
“We’re aware people are having trouble accessing our services,” said Meta’s Director of Communications Andy Stone in a post on X.
