Wilfried Mbappé hardly appreciated the way his star son was treated last summer.

Kylian Mbappé experienced a turbulent summer of 2023 with Paris Saint-Germain. The number 7 of the capital club had been excluded from the professional group for several weeks, following his refusal to activate his option to extend his contract until June 2025

According to Christian Jeanpierre, Wilfried Mbappé had a very bad time during this period. ” Angry ? Oh yes. There was something there. It was hard there. I don’t think he lost his temper. I think in his head, to know ‘Will’ well, he’s a pressure cooker and he wanted to plaster everyone, but he didn’t do it. He didn’t go crazy at all, there was reason for that”revealed the sports journalist in a documentary which will be broadcast this Monday evening on The L’Equipe Channel.

A mess of lies

“There were false statements made by very high-level people. Totally false statements. And in these cases all you want to do is go out, call the newspaper L’Equipe, and say ‘Wait guys, we’re talking nonsense about my son’ and he didn’t do it. And I admire this phlegm, it’s necessary,” continues the former Téléfoot presenter.

After several weeks of being sidelined, Kylian Mbappé was reinstated to the professional group on August 13. Free to negotiate with the club of his choice since January 1, the captain of the Blues is expected to go to Real Madrid next season.
