FC Barcelona is in a very delicate financial situation. Nothing new of course, since the Barcelonans have been struggling financially for several seasons now. It is especially with the financial fair play of La Liga that they have a lot of problems, since the Catalans are struggling a lot to register the contracts of the players they recruit. When he arrived in Catalonia in 2022, Jules Koundé, for example, had to wait before being able to register with La Liga.
And this summer, Barça is experiencing the same problems. Earlier this week, Cadena SER revealed that the club could not register the contract of Dani Olmo, the star recruit of the Blaugrana summer market. The radio station, in a new article published on its website, confirms its information by relying on internal sources from Barça and La Liga. As things stand, Olmo is unavailable for the Valencia match on Saturday.

But he is not the only player that Hansi Flick will not be able to count on for his big debut in La Liga. Indeed, according to the SER chainPau Victor, the other summer signing, is also unavailable because he could not be registered. Just go to the official La Liga website, in the transfers section, to see that the two Spaniards are indeed not yet registered.
Then there are the cases of Íñigo Martínez and Vitor Roque. Last season, they were able to be registered temporarily thanks to an exception made by La Liga. That will not be possible this year. While the Brazilian is expected to leave, the Spaniard remains a rather useful player in defense and that is therefore bad news for Flick. Pablo Torre and Alex Valle, back from loan, are also without matches for the moment. Barça will therefore have to redouble its efforts to sell players, while La Liga should validate the sale of some of the club’s assets in the coming days which will allow Laporta and Deco to have a little more room to maneuver.
