New turnaround for the future of Clément Lenglet at FC Barcelona? According to The DesmarqueBarcelona intends to offer a contract extension to the French international (15 caps), if he stays at the end of this transfer window. Pushed towards the exit, Lenglet is on the tablets of Atlético de Madrid. Nevertheless, the Catalan club and the Madrid club are struggling to find a definitive agreement, a few days before the end of the transfer window.

FC Barcelona’s idea, if Lenglet stays, is to extend his contract with a lower salary. Currently, the former AS Nancy-Lorraine player earns 16 million euros per year in Catalonia. Embroiled in various financial problems, Barça still has to register some players from its squad, including its new recruit Dani Olmo. An extension of the 29-year-old defender, in addition to the future departures of İlkay Gündoğan and Vitor Roque, should allow Joan Laporta’s club to achieve its goals.
