FC Barcelona: Joan Laporta promises hell to Real Madrid with Kylian Mbappé

In recent years, Real Madrid seems to have gotten a head start in its rivalry with FC Barcelona. If the Catalan club still manages to stay in the game sportingly (winner of La Liga last season), in terms of the structure of the club and the financial aspect, this is far from being the case. Barça continues to sink into an economic crisis and is trying as best it can to remain competitive with few resources. But in an increasingly excessive football, it is difficult for the Blaugranas to exist and to be a real competitor to Real Madrid in attracting the greatest players on the planet.

For their part, the Merengues always manage to get by and this summer, they will achieve another big blow. Upon departure from PSG, Kylian Mbappé will join the Madrid club. An XXL reinforcement both sporting and economic which also confirms that Real Madrid is no longer in the same category as FC Barcelona which is struggling to retain players like Joao Cancelo or Joao Felix. And the arrival of Kylian Mbappé will further widen the sporting gap that exists between the two teams. At least, not for Joan Laporta. In an interview given to Mundo Deportivothe president of Barça gave a fairly pessimistic speech towards the French international and Real Madrid.

Kylian Mbappé a disruptive element?

The 61-year-old Spanish leader explained that he did not fear Kylian Mbappé at all and even took the opportunity to try to disrupt Casa Blanca. “Am I envious of Real Madrid for Mbappé? Not at all, not at all. Besides, I don't know if they will or not. We'll see “he first said before being relaunched on the probability that the PSG striker would arrive this summer. “What if I have any information? No, I have intuition. There they have a problem. We have to sell a player (if Mbappé arrives), right? Because they are not both going to play (editor's note: Vinicius) in the same place and they are also very important, very expensive players.

And Laporta continues. “And besides, speaking of numbers, it’s certain that this will cause problems in the locker room. It’s not a gift.” The president of FC Barcelona therefore expects that the arrival of Kylian Mbappé will play tricks on a Madrid team which will still be damn impressive on paper. It will, of course, be necessary to succeed in bringing together stars like Vinicius Jr, Mbappé or even Bellingham but if this is indeed the case, Barça will probably have problems to worry about. And Joan Laporta seems to be well aware of this…
