Sidelined for the match against Alavès, the absence of Jules Koundé in Barça’s eleven was not a sporting choice. The Frenchman, who is nevertheless one of the favorites of his coach Hansi Flick, was suspended by the latter for arriving late for the pre-match chat. A decision fairly well received by the former Bordeaux player who had so far played all the minutes of the Catalan club in La Liga (900/900 possible).

“I needed to rest”blew away the French international (36 caps) to the Iberian press. Despite everything, the former Sevillian still played the last 25 minutes of the match, replacing his usual replacement Hector Fort, who was therefore making his first start under Hansi Flick. The situation should, however, return to normal, upon his return from the break, for Jules Koundé.
