The start of the new season also means new jerseys for the clubs. And on the Spanish side, if for the moment Real Madrid has attracted all the attention with the presentation of Kylian Mbappé and the release of his new jersey, FC Barcelona made a big announcement this Thursday. The Catalan club officially unveiled its new home jersey for the 2024-2025 season.

The latter was unveiled in a video on social networks where we find Ronaldinho, Carles Puyol and Andrès Iniesta in addition to the current players of the men’s and women’s teams. Made by Nike and with Spotify as main sponsor as for two seasons now, this tunic is very reminiscent of the first jerseys of the Catalan club with a blue and a red of the time.

“In this year of the Club’s 125th anniversary, the design of the FC Barcelona jersey for the 2024/25 season is inspired by the Club’s origins and heritage. Using the blue and maroon colours, present on the crest as a central element, the design is unique and symbolic. It represents the identity of the team over the years.”writes the Barcelona press release before giving more details, in particular on one of the particularities of the jersey: its evolving sponsor.

“In order to pay homage to the Club, the jersey is inspired by the one from 1899, when the kit was two-tone. The design is elegant and offers a classic contrast. The Spotify logo will be present on the front of the jersey, like the Nike logo. The Ambilight TV brand logo will appear on the sleeve of the men’s jersey, and the Bimbo logo on the sleeve of the Barça Women’s jersey. The UNHCR/ACNUR logo remains under the players’ numbers. During the first launch phase, the new Barça jerseys in stores will feature the same Spotify logo as last season, in stadium and match versions. The versions with the renewed logo, which will be the ones that the players will wear during the 2024/25 season, will be available this autumn.”
