Beaten to the wire by Galatasaray in the championship, Fenerbahçe did not take long to react after the coronation of the Istanbul rival. President Ali Koç’s club did not hesitate to pay €21 million to make José Mourinho its new coach until 2026. And that’s not all. Lately, the first rumors indicate an XXL ambition of “Fener” on the transfer market.
After the Argentinian Paulo Dybala, the yellow and blue team would especially be very interested in the idea of bringing back the nugget Arda Güler for a loan. Two sexy names, but two names that seem unattainable. Regarding Joya, Mourinho has already indicated that he is not interested in his former protégés at Roma. As for Güler, Real Madrid would simply not intend to loan him out and would like to integrate him into their rotation more often.
The Mendes connection
Today, the Turkish media Fanatik tells us that another flashy name would have been checked by Fenerbahçe. This is Gonçalo Ramos (22 years old). Recruited by PSG last summer in exchange for €65 million, the Portuguese striker played understudy for Kylian Mbappé, but his record is far from ridiculous (14 goals, 2 assists in 40 matches, all competitions combined) . Under contract with Paris until 2028, Ramos seems, at first glance, to be part of the post-Mbappé plans.
Except that the Turkish newspaper assures the opposite. According to him, Paris would even be willing to let him go on loan. To support his information, Fanatik explains that President Koç is a close friend of Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and that agent Jorge Mendes, who represents Mourinho and Ramos, could play an important role. A rumor to be taken with a grain of salt, however, since Ramos’ departure would force PSG to recruit a replacement… while they must already find Mbappé’s.
