Shocked by the incidents observed in Trabzon on Sunday, the management of Fenerbahçe is considering leaving the Turkish championship.

At the final whistle of their match on the Trabzonspor pitch, while they were celebrating their victory (2-3), the Fener players were attacked by several spectators, some of whom were armed with knives.

The debates then turned into fistfights, with many members of the Istanbul team helping to control the troublemakers. At the end of this episode, the leaders of Fenerbahçe are considering a radical measure.

In another championship?

The Board of Directors of the Istanbul club decided this Monday to convene an Extraordinary General Assembly on Tuesday, April 2.

On the agenda will be this: “ Evaluate the measures to be taken, including the withdrawal of our A football team from the Super League, based on the events that occurred during the Super League match played on the night of March 17, 2024 and recent events in Turkish football. »

It remains to be seen in such circumstances the possible alternatives for Fenerbahçe, which could therefore turn to another league.
