To ease the economic strain on Nigerians, President Bola Tinubu has unveiled plans to distribute rice and fertiliser in Nasarawa State on 31st August 2024.

In a statement released on Thursday by Jonathan Eze, Private Media Consultant to the Minister of State for Police Affairs, the move aligns with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda on food security and sustainable development.

The Minister of State for Police Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, who represents Nasarawa State in the Federal Executive Council, commended the President for the gesture, noting that the palliative measures are aimed at mitigating the effects of the current economic challenges on the people.

She added that President Tinubu’s administration is attentive and committed to ushering in prosperity for Nigerians, ensuring that the needs of the ordinary citizens are addressed.

“The palliatives will be distributed through a transparent and equitable process, ensuring that they reach those who need them most,” Sulaiman-Ibrahim stated.

“This initiative is designed to support the people of Nasarawa State, ensuring they benefit from the broader efforts of the current administration to enhance food security.”

The palliatives will be distributed to residents across the three senatorial zones of Nasarawa State: Kwandare, Nasarawa Egon, and Karu, while the fertiliser will be allocated to eligible farmers within the 13 local government areas,” Sulaiman-Ibrahim noted.

The distribution effort will involve traditional, political, and religious leaders, as well as vulnerable citizens, reinforcing the government’s commitment to equitable resource allocation and community well-being.

The Minister also assured that the distribution process will be closely monitored to prevent any form of diversion or manipulation.

President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda on food security has been hailed as a timely intervention, with many in the state expressing their gratitude.

The distribution exercise will be carried out in collaboration with local community leaders and stakeholders to ensure its success.
