Last night, The Best ceremony took place in London. Several awards were given, such as the trophy for best player of the year 2023. Three men were nominated: Erling Haaland (Manchester City), Kylian Mbappé (PSG) and Lionel Messi (Inter Miami). And while the Norwegian and the Argentinian were tied (48 points each), it was ultimately the Pulga which obtained this trophy, thanks to the votes of the national team captains. But the former PSG striker was not present in the room to collect his dues.

According to information from Daily Mail, Lionel Messi did not attend the ceremony because the trip to London would have prevented him from taking part in a week of pre-season training with his club, Inter Miami. Note that Mbappé and Haaland were also absent.
