18 Former Nigerian international Oladimeji Lawal believes Super Eagles head coach Finidi George has what it takes to achieve success with the senior national team.
He made this known in a chat with Completesports.com, where he stated that the former Ajax star will be eager to make a positive start with the team ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa.

Finidi’s major target will be to qualify the Super Eagles to the World Cup and also the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
However, Lawal noted that, with the support of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Nigerians, the former Enyimba coach won’t disappoint.
“I sincerely think Finidi won’t disappoint Nigerians, knowing fully the task at hand.
“Having been with Jose Peseiro for 20 months, I want to believe he would have learned a few things and, with his own additional knowledge, be ready for the task at hand.
“He knows the players and will definitely deliver the job regardless of the pressure.”
