The Florentine people have been holding their breath since Sunday afternoon. The meeting between Fiorentina and Atalanta, as part of the 29th day of Serie A, was postponed due to the worrying state of health of Joe Barone, general manager of the Viola. In fact, the Italian leader was rushed to the cardiac surgery intensive care unit at the San Raffaele hospital in Milan, leaving his hotel in Bergamo. This Monday, Fiorentina provided a new update on its networks, confirming that Joe Barone's vital functions were still supported by machines. According to Italian news agency ANSA, there has been no improvement since yesterday and Barone's condition remains very serious.

While Barone is hospitalized, his children (Pietro, Giuseppe, Salvatore and Gabriella) arrived at his bedside this Monday, having left yesterday from New Jersey to the United States where they live. Her Camilla, also arrived in Milan yesterday, after leaving Florence where she has been living with her husband for a month. Several other people well known in the club's corridors arrived at dawn on Monday, including sporting director Daniele Pradè, communications manager Alessandro Ferrari, team captain Cristiano Biraghi and Giovanni Nigro, the architect of the Viola Park and longtime friend of Joe Barone.
