Long considered one of the great hopes of Italian football, Moise Kean is still far from meeting the expectations placed on him. Yet still young, at 24 years old, the native of Vercelli has already suffered some failures. Revealed at Juventus, he decided to join Everton in 2019 where he quickly found himself in a situation of failure (39 matches, 4 goals and 2 assists). However, he would be able to bounce back during the 2020/2021 season. In a luxury joker role at Paris Saint-Germain, he had surely achieved the best performance of his career with 17 goals in 41 matches. Enough to have high hopes before his return to Juventus in the summer of 2021.
Unfortunately for him, the last three seasons have been complicated. Unable to win against Alvaro Morata, Arkadiusz Milik or even Dusan Vlahovic, Moise Kean had to settle for crumbs and remained in a 2023/2024 season without the slightest goal with the Bianconeri, not having found the fault since April 1, 2023. It was therefore through the back door that he left his training club this summer for Fiorentina with the aim of relaunching himself. And the beginnings gave rise to fears of failure since when he was presented, he showed great clumsiness in the face of a giant inflatable target. Fortunately for him and the Viola, what happened next was very different.
Decisive and back in selection
If his team had a mixed start to the season, Moise Kean quickly hit the mark with two goals in the Conference League play-offs against Akademia Puskas. Author of 7 goals and 1 assist in 12 appearances, the right-hander has finally regained some effectiveness in front of goal and regularly contributes to his new team by being indisputable in attack. Enough to receive the compliments of his new coach Rafaele Palladino: “the club and I have confidence in Moise and that may seem trivial, but it is fundamental for a player. He has grown mentally, trains hard every time and sets an example for his teammates. He must never lose this attitude, because to express his potential, he must be in peak physical condition.»
The main interested party who shone this Sunday evening with a double against AS Roma during a Viola recital fully appreciates this new adventure: “Everything is going well, I am integrating very well. I already knew some of them, Dodo gives me assists. Ikoné is an excellent person, you have to understand that, but he is a person with a big heart and great talent. I hope to do big things with him here. Palladino is an excellent coach, I like him technically. His conception of the game is very close to mine. As I said before, coming here was the right choice. He has a good project and I hope to do well.» Back in the Italian selection thanks to his performances, he also scored on September 9 against Israel (2-1). Having fallen into oblivion, Moise Kean is in the process of breathing new life into his career, but with him the hard part begins: confirming.
