Jared Padalecki is joining Fire Country for Season 3, but there might be more plans for him! The 42-year-old Supernatural star boarded the series in Episode 5, titled “Edgewater’s About to Get Real Cozy,” as new character Captain Camden Casey, Bode’s Phase 3 instructor. Per the official logline: “Station 42 and Three Rock jump into action when an airplane makes an emergency landing outside of Edgewater. Jared Padalecki guest stars as Camden, a SoCal firefighter who immediately recognizes Bode’s raw talent.” Of course, fans are curious whether he’ll be sticking around for a while. Keep reading to find out more… As of now, Jared only has a three-episode arc planned for Season 3, but there are rumors of a spinoff. Deadline reported: “Padalecki could headline a spinoff series, which is in very early stages, with no writer attached. Colloquially referred to as Fire Country: Surfside, the project could be either for CBS, home of Fire Country and upcoming spinoff Sheriff Country, or Paramount+.” Executive producer Tia Napolitano also opened up to TV Insider about what to expect: “Camden’s going to rub a few people the wrong way and not always, but he has very unconventional tactics when it comes to firefighting, when it comes to Bode, when it comes to what rules are meant to be broken.” “And I think it’ll be fun. He’s not a villain by any means, but it’ll be fun to see our people have this new real alpha guy in their midst,” she added. “He’s really adventurous. He’s an envelope pusher, and he and Bode are both going to be the first one to jump into a fire when they shouldn’t. And it’s almost a race of which one of them is more heroic and willing to go rogue and willing to do anything to get the save. They’re just brothers in that way,” she went on. Max Thieriot teased how Camden will impact his character as well to TV Insider, saying: “Bode’s doing his best to walk this line and be a firefighter who operates by the book, and Camden is certainly not that guy. I think that Camden does things a different way, which creates a little conflict between him and Jake and him and Vince and Sharon. They see that Bode’s doing so well, but now here is this instructor who’s kind of pushing Bode to be Bode in a way.” He went on: “But I think that’s because Camden sees a bit of himself in Bode and they have a lot of similarities in the way that they act based on their instinct and gut feeling and make decisions based on what’s happening in the moment versus following the checklist. That’s a scary thing for everybody in Bode’s life to see because of decisions that Bode’s made in the past. The two of them obviously will work well together, but at the same time, I think their similarities and tendencies will also create conflict between the two of ’em and it’ll be really fun for everybody to watch.” Find out who are the richest stars of the show.
