Ivan Juric breaks his habits. For the first time in his coaching career, the 49-year-old Croatian will not work in Italy. He will now sit on an English bench. Southampton announced on Saturday that they had entrusted the first team to the former AS Roma coach. Ivan Juric was dismissed last month, around three months after arriving in the Italian capital.

The mission promises to be complex for the former midfielder, successor to Russell Martin, fired on Monday. The Saints occupy last place in the Premier League, nine points behind Leicester, 17th and first non-relegation. “I think it’s a very big challenge, but I’m very optimistic because I saw a team that can do better,” estimated Ivan Juric.
